Title: Audacity - great free audio recording software
Post by: BSD2000 on August 26, 2011, 04:26:37 AM
If you're looking for a program to record your vinyl records, Audacity is a great, free alternative to commercial software.

You can download a copy here:

I use a mixture of programs to record audio, but on my old Dell laptop I still use Audacity. It uses a very small amount of computer resources which makes it very responsive and perfect for older computers.

Yeah, very smart program. Easy and stable. But I feel the best audio editor ever was Cool Edit Pro: much more complete.

I agree with you. I used to use Cool Edit Pro and now I use Adobe Audition  :D  Audacity is very popular and it seems to work very well  8) ...and it's free  ;)
