Keith Emerson, founding member and keyboardist of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and a prog rock legend, died Friday. He was 71. His bandmate Carl Palmer and the trio's official Facebook confirmed Emerson's death. TMZ reported that police found Emerson with a single gunshot wound to the head, though they could not confirm that Emerson died by suicide. "We regret to announce that Keith Emerson died last night at his home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, aged 71. We ask that the family’s privacy and grief be respected," the band wrote.

I was going through some vinyl rips and found two of 'Lucky Man' from ELP; one with the Zyx R100H and the other with my Zyx Omega-G. I didn't normalize the levels; the R100H rip was recorded 'hotter' than the Omega-G. The R100H was recorded using my Presonus Inspire recording interface (Wolfson ADC converters) and the Omega-G was recorded using an Apogee 48K/24bit rack mount ADC with Cirrus Logic CS5396-KM ADC converters. Both recordings were made using my Audio Research PH5 preamp and Wireworld Eclipse II cables. The samples below are 256k CBR MP3's.
