Title: Got a new toy...

I was out shopping a few weeks ago during the 'black Friday' weekend and I came across the Asus TF300T 10" Android tablet at Best Buy for $274.99 and I couldn't pass it up.  :)

They also had a deal on the detachable keyboard for $99, so I picked that up too. It has a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad processor, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, 8MP camera, wireless B/G/N, 1280x800 resolution IPS screen with Gorilla glass, GPS, gyro sensors, digital compass, 12 core GPU, TF slot, USB host 'OTG' (via an optional adapter), stereo speakers and 'Sonicmaster' audio.

The IPS screen is phenomenal, the wireless speeds are lightning fast, games play perfectly smooth and Adobe Flash programs work fine. The only downside is the audio output is actually really mediocre. It's light on bass and sounds a bit muffled and congested. One thing I haven't tested is connecting a USB DAC and see if it works. Some tablets will output audio via USB adapters but I'm not sure if all of them can. The speakers are also located in a bad spot (on the right hand side, on the back) and there's no stereo separation, but the quality of audio is fine for YouTube videos or game playing. I use headphones for most of my listening.

Overall, it's a fantastic tablet to take on the go instead of lugging my laptop around.  8)

I tried plugging in my Audio-Ng USB DAC and it didn't do anything.  :( Oh well.
