I just picked up a cheap USB recording interface, an ADS RDX-150-EF for $14. It uses a Burr Brown PCM2902E AD/DA chipset and a TI OPA4374A op-amp. It's a very simple design with only three main components. Here's a few pictures:

Packaging and front of the unit:

  • THD+N: 0.01%
  • SNR: 80 dB
Playback:
  • Bit Rate: 16-bit
  • Sampling Rate: 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz

  • Audio Output: RCA Stereo (Left and Right); SPDIF (Toslink)
  • Power: USB bus powered (no external supply needed)

Unit Dimensions:
1.1 x 5.6 x 3.25-inches (H x W x D, approximate)

Once I thoroughly test the unit I will post an extensive review with samples.
