Title: Small Reels Redux: Why Cassettes are Cool Again

Here's a great article on Sound and Vision about the renewed interest in cassette decks. (http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blog/2012/09/17/small-reels-redux-why-cassettes-are-cool-again)

I still have my Denon DRM-710 3-head cassette deck and I recently picked up a Kenwood dual cassette deck. Recordings made with the Denon tape deck on a metal tape sounds fantastic.  8)

Audio quality on cassette tape is great, no doubt on that. But I feel more attracted by vinyl. Also I feel tape is more subject to wear and deterioration over time. My dad still has a Blaupunkt cassette recorder he bought in West Germany in the early 70's. I made some great sounding cassettes back in the '90s with that machine.  :)
