My internet service is through a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with speeds caped at 78Mb down, 11Mb up. Previously, I was 25Mb down, 2Mb up. During the day, my speeds drop to about 55Mb down, 7Mb up.

'Foot of the Alps' - man, I bet the view is beautiful!  8)[/size]

The theoretical offer by my provider is 7Mb down, 640Kb up. I'm lucky because I live in the surrounding area of the town of Bergamo which, despite being anchored at the foothills of the Alps, is still quite near to Milan, so we got decent ADSL covering. But I bet that if you travel for 4 or 5 miles, as soon as you enter those narrow Alpine valleys we got here, that value will quickly decrease. Provided that there would still be ADSL: the neighbouring village (less than 1 mile from my home) doesn't have ADSL at all.
My provider also offer 10Mb and 20Mb down ADSL, but not in my area (not yet, at least).
As for the view, it's quite nice and relaxing :D First photo was shot from my music room window in 2009. The others were shot this morning from my back yard. With a cleaner sky you could see snowy mountains in the background of photo #4.

Hills and palm trees, nice ;) Reminds me of Sardinia.

Wow, you guys get to look at beautiful mountains and hillsides.  ;D

I look out and see a low income housing project across the street. I also get to hear a lot of yelling, police sirens, loud cars and loud music.  :(
