I just picked up Rush's new release: Moving Pictures Live 2011 (http://www.amazon.com/Rush-Moving-Pictures-Lives-2011/dp/B005OZ4F9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320696465&sr=8-1). I didn't listen to it yet, I'll report back on how it sounds later today. I hope they didn't compress the heck out it, destroying all the dynamics.

Ok, so I listened to it for a few minutes and guess what? It sounds like total garbage. It sounds like someone's cell phone recording - while it's in their pocket - that's how bad.  >:(

How does it sound? Well - totally compressed, no bass, no treble, no dynamics, no depth and no separation. In some portions, it's actually very distorted! How messed up is that? Are modern engineers actually deaf when they record and mix this stuff?  :(

I could have done better with a Zoom H1 pocket recorder sitting in the last row.

My recommendation is to skip this release. There's a reason why the price is so cheap, the quality just isn't there. Unless you absolutely have to have it to fill out your collection, or you were at the concert when they recorded it and want it as a keepsake, I would skip it.

Its pretty atrocious.. TBF the CD is just as bad if not worse.... I think its a sly marketing ploy to make everyone think Vapor Trails doesnt sound as bad as they first thought..

Nice site but way to many annoying adverts
